ACCOMMODATION

A number of rooms have been held at the following hotels. They have offered us special prices for the ICES/NAFO Sumposium on the Variability of the North Atlantic and its Marine Ecosystems during 2000-2009, so remember to mention that you are attending this Symposium when booking the room (rooms are held until February 28th). Please make your reservations by contacting the hotels directly. All the hotels accept major credit cards.

Alternatively delegates may make their own accommodation arrangements in Santander. The following is a link to the local tourist office where you will find information on local accommodation.

As the hotels are located at a short distance from Santander Convention Centre, no shuttle bus service will be arranged. Nevertheless, Santander has a very good public transport system (buses and taxis) that can be used at your convenience.

(*) There is a wonderful 40 minute walk from the city to the venue that will let you enjoy one of the best views from the Santander natural surroundings: its bay and the mountains are not too far from there.

VENUE
The Symposium will be held at the Santander Convention Centre, Spain. This is a modern building complex with rooms for scientific sessions, poster and exhibition areas, offices for the Scientific and Organizing Committee, and facilities for press-conferences and communication with media. It is located between the city centre and the Sardinero area, a privileged spot surrounded by beaches and spectacular scenery overlooking the Cantabrian Sea.
